The project was created by Carolina Schwarz and Robby LeDoux, two parents in the children’s content industry who saw a very real need to address this topic honestly. It's based on their real-life experiences with their own kids. They found the conversations and resources around childhood anxiety limited and often watered down and the children’s content industry afraid to use the simple word anxiety out front. “We feel this is a common subject that people seem hesitant to talk about directly.” Perky Is A-OK! is based on Carolina's own son and the idea “resonates with so many parents.”

Working on a multi-media concept began one year ago, with the thought of a launch some time in summer 2020. Then Covid-19 changed everything. The first episode thus began production a week after the pandemic struck New York City out of a desire to help. With limited resources in a race against the clock, freelancers and family members across the country started working from living rooms, recording voices in their closets on cell phones, and contributing our collective energy towards a common cause.
